Digital terrestrial for Ireland [IOL]

The Republic of Ireland becomes the latest European country to announce a digital terrestrial platform, with the responsible minister calling for tenders for the technical side of the operation.

Like most European countries, and unlike the money-obsessed UK at first, the new platform will be Free-to-Air from the start, with the simple aim of increasing services and quality, rather than trying to make a quick buck out of inferior technology for a failing terrestrial network.
